The Songs of Haakon

words are important.

words kill
      words hurt
            words weave sweet bonds

in the beginning was the word...

Til Isak

This is my first attempt at creating classical music.
In a short while, I hope to add a version where my son Isak, 9 years, will play the cornet-parts.

"Kjærlighetens kyst/Coast of Love" is one of the few songs I've written in Norwegian.
To Anna

Kjærlighetens kyst

Bordet bugner over
av juice og frukt og brød
En liten bris gir palmetrærne trim
To barn har bygget sandslott

På stranden slåss to måker
om et lite stykke brød
To jenter skjenker dukken sin litt te

Solen skaper bølger i en luft så søt og klar
varme kyss gir hjerteskjelv og lyst
En ung mann faller ned på kne og venter på et svar
Sol og sjø og sand og hav på kjærlighetens kyst :|

Coast of Love

The table overflows
with juice and fruits and bread
A tiny breeze gives the palms a workout
Two children have built a castle of sand
which a third destroys
A golden cat stands, sun-lazy, and watches

The sun creates waves in an air so sweet and clear
warm kisses create heart-shivers and lust
A young man falls down on his knees and waits for a reply
Sun and sea and sand and ocean on the Coast of Love

A fishingboat silently glides
over a sea as clear as glass
The air is filled with flowerscent
On the beach two seagulls fight
for a tiny piece of bread
Two girls pour their doll a cup of tea

The sun creates waves in an air so sweet and clear
warm kisses create heart-shivers and lust
A young man falls down on his knees and waits for a reply
Sun and sea and sand and ocean on the Coast of Love :|

i've got songpoems stashed away in notebooks,
on scraps of paper,
on an ancient Dell Axim.

a few of the songs have been recorded.
the quality varies.
so does my singing.

i am looking for singers who would like to use my songs

please listen through them, and mail me at hueland@gmail.com or call me at (+47) 99 567 564 if you find something you like.
